After a year of learning and experimentation with TheRevolution.US I've decided to start fresh. I'm going to focus on creating a section for San Diego with pages including free WIFI locations, biographies of local politicians, and a list of local events. I'm hoping to build a framework that will in time allow the same to be done for other cities. At the same time I'll be trying to start some local discussion and action groups using the site as a communication tool.

In early February I'll be taking out papers to run for Mayor of San Diego and attempting to gather the 2,200 signatures needed over that month. The process should help familiarize me with the city's political system a bit more and help me with building things here.

In March I have an art show scheduled to show prints of my stencils. I'll be stumbling through different methods of making and using stencils until then, hopefully I'll take some pictures and put together a tutorial as well. I'll try to make tutorials of some of the steps I take building the San Diego section too, such as uploading and embedding photos and using some basic HTML tags.

I'm still mainly doing things solo, so if anyone wants to help out with anything let me know.

***update 2008 06 14***

I just finished my run for Mayor of San Diego and it went great, you can check out my website for it at RevolutionaryMayor.Com

Now I'm trying to figure out how to get to Santiago, Chile for a vacation/adventure. I'm planning on setting up a new website at EricBidwell.Com to record how that goes.

Once I get back from Chile, or decide to give up, I'll be back to working on this site...

Big Sugar

Big Sugar explores the dark history and modern power of the world's reigning sugar cartels. Using dramatic reenactments, it reveals how sugar was at the heart of slavery in the West Indies in the 18th century, while showing how present-day consumers are slaves to a sugar-based diet.

Atheism - A Rough History of Disbelief

The series includes extracts from interviews with various academic luminaries including Arthur Miller, Richard Dawkins, Steve Weinberg, Colin McGinn, Denys Turner and Daniel Dennett. The series also includes many quotations from the works of atheists, agnostics and deists, all read by Bernard Hill. The program features an original percussion score by Evelyn Glennie.

Disaster Struck The Revolution and I Struck It Back!

Earlier this week I was at a meeting to work on the new Refresh San Diego website with a few of the others from the group. The new Refresh site is running Drupal as is TheRevolution.US, so when I saw the resident Drupal Developer Harry Slaughter using this really cool update status module on the Refresh site I decided to install it on this site. I got a little ahead of myself, forgot to backup the site, and screwed up the database! There went about a month of work on the site since my last backup!  Read more ...

On Living Life Like a Champ or To School or Not To School?

A response to spots1327's video "Living Life Like a Champ" in which she discusses living by principles and whether or not principles even matter if you don't live up to them.

Epistemology or Why I'm Not Like Hitler and Magic Doesn't Work

My response to a comment on my Myspace blog about using magic and spell casting as an activism strategy. I address epistemology, or how we know what we know, why science and reason are better methods of knowing than faith, and that there is in fact one objective reality.
